St. Paul School celebrates 100 years of education

WEIRTON, W.Va. (WTRF) — St. Paul School celebrates 100 years of providing faith-based education to the Weirton community.

Bishop Mark Brennan and Mayor Harold Miller took part in the festivities alongside, staff, students and past alumni – blessing the school for years to come.

Principal Jamie Lesho says that this school is a testament to all the teachers, parishioners and community members who have helped shape the school into what it is today.

“It’s a great thing anytime the bishop comes to the school to celebrate with us, even more so when it’s the 100-year celebration. With all the positive stuff we have going on in the school I think we’ll continue to grow, and our numbers will continue to climb.”

Jamie Lesho, Principal of St. Paul School

“It’s always really cool to see it in photos because that makes it more real, and you can see how the building has changed, and you can see how classrooms have changed. You get that nostalgic feeling of walking through halls you used to walk through.”

Mallory Osleger, Preschool and STEM teacher at St. Paul School

Osleger says the school is like one big family, making it to 100 years is a big achievement for everyone involved.

She says she looks forward to being a part of St. Paul’s bright future.
